2014 Color Of The Year
Seen on the runway and in makeup collections for the spring, Radiant Orchid is meant to bring a healthy glow to the skin, uplift the spirits and liven up neutrals.
In Pantone’s press release, the company explained their decision for choosing the “captivating, magical, enigmatic purple.” PANTONE® 18-3224, Radiant Orchid, the color of the year for 2014, is meant to inspire the expansion of creativity and originality, the company says.
Pantone’s PR department explained the color’s dynamic influence:
“An enchanting harmony of fuchsia, purple and pink undertones, Radiant Orchid inspires confidence and emanates great joy, love and health. It is a captivating purple, one that draws you in with its beguiling charm.”
So, how can you incorporate this delicate shade of purple into your life?
From dresses to shoes, bags to earrings, it is the perfect color for adding a feminine touch without overwhelming the pallet. This color is a cinch to dress up: great paired with tans and khakis or with a bold print in the office; or with another jewel tone for date-nights and events. It’s also effortless and casual: a foolproof choice for a charming manicure, a sweet twist on your favorite crochet slip-ons, and a dazzling update for your favorite sunglasses.

The emphasis on soft delicate ways to feature radiant orchid in the mood board is great. 🙂
Love it! Purple, in any shade, is one of my favorite colors. I love matching it with neutrals.
